About the maker
'Brillié' was a French clock making firm supplying largely factories, railway stations and offices. The company was founded in 1898 in Levallois by Charles Vigreux and Lucien Brillié under the name: 'Société en Nom Collectif (SNC).
In 1900/1910 the company was called SNC Brillié Frères and in 1912/1913 it was renamed SA Brillié Frères. The name the company would keep until the end of its existence in 1981.
