A large brass sign from the entranceway of an insurance company. c.1920.
Solid brass with framed edges inlaid with companies as shown in the photos. The Royal Insurance Company Ltd was formed in 1918 taking over The Liverpool and London Globe Insurance Company, the London & Lancashire Insurance Company and Law Union & Rock Insurance Company. The amalgamation of these companies still exist today as the well known RSA Insurance Group Ltd. Fixing holes to each corner. Origins unknown but could well have hung outside their illustrious offices at No.1 Cornhill in London.
