Joyce Whitchurch Tower Clock 2

£0.00
Out of Stock

A scarcely found tower clock made in England by Joyce of Whitchurch. c.1880

A rare find, and in an incredibly time worn distressed appearance. Heavy duty steel dial with numerous stains, losses, cracks and chips - but critically all sound, secure and clean - fitted into the original timber frames. The hand painted makers name can be seen on the dial. The original copper hands have a wonderful verdigris patina and have been fitted to a modern 240v electric mechanism and are now perfectly balanced to keep time accurately.

Thought to have come from a clock tower in Wakefield, however not confirmed.

One of a pair, the other can be seen here.
