About the maker
As a company, Ferranti started business in 1885 as an electrical engineering and equipment firm based in the UK. They were primarily involved in work relating to the national grid and defence electronics but also responsible for one of the first computers in 1951. It wasn't until 1935 that Ferranti began to produce 'brown goods' including televisions, radios and electric clocks.
