Perfect early example of the iconic lamp made in England by renowned electrical manufactures Dugdills. c.1920
Made of brass, with a beautiful natural time worn patina. Likely once mounted to a machine, this versatile lamp could be wall, floor, desk or even ceiling mounted. Fully articulating, with rotation to top arm. Makers stamp to base.
Rewired with 2m of black twist flex and BS 3-pin plug.
The design of this is attributed to John Dugdill, an electrical engineer from Manchester, who filed a patent for a ‘rotating electrical switch’ in 1906
