Fantastic example of the classic Dugdills desk lamp used by factory workers. c.1930
Found with a thick covering of rust, this lamp has been cleaned sympathetically to show signs of it’s age and heritage. Remnants of old green paint – waxed to preserve. Base plate stamped with Dugdills maker’s mark. Could be wall, desk or ceiling mounted.
Rewired with 2m of black twist flex and BS 3-pin plug.
The design of this is attributed to John Dugdill, an electrical engineer from Manchester, who filed a patent for a ‘rotating electrical switch’ in 1906
